Our life is the land to be there is to be a part of a unique structure still undistorted by mistakes of man. The pioneer foundational understandings are used here for our lives are controlled by climate. Alaskans understand the times of the land and being a part of it helping the neighbor no matter the hour and no matter the need. There is a certain understanding that survival requires help from a neighbor. In Alaska, our neighbors can be several hundred miles away. We have a strong sense of urgency to get through the summer gather what is needed for the long hard winter. We live hard and we play hard and we survive.
